Dr. Kupeyan has always been a pioneer in the field of restorative and surgical aspects of implant dentistry, regularly holding seminars across North America ad conducting training for dentists on how to use the software for computer guided surgery. Some mile-stones include:
- Conducted first computer-guided implant surgery in Canada
- One of the first clinics in North America to provide Teeth in an Hour and Teeth in a Day procedures
- Involved in the pre-launch research evaluation team of computer guided surgery
- Continued research and documentation on all-ceramic crowns
As a prosthodontist, Dr. Kupeyan specializes in treating a wide variety of complex dental conditions and restoring optimal function and aesthetics. Because of their extensive training and experience, prosthodontists have a special understanding of the dynamics of the human smile, the preservation of oral health, and the creation of tooth and related-tissue replacements.
Since obtaining his prosthodontic license, Dr. Kupeyan has continued his involvement with dental education. He has taught prosthodontic students at the University of Michigan since 1983. In 1987, he also began training and continues to train other dentists in both restorative and surgical aspects of dental implants at his teaching facility in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.
Dr. Kupeyan’s research activities have focused on evaluating implants and restorative components and providing restorative solutions to patients with temporomandibular joint disorder (TMD). His collaboration and research has been published in dental journals. Dr. Kupeyan’s study on immediate provisional crowning implants was one of the first published in the dental literature.
